We cater for both male and female residents in a mix of single and double bedded wards. We aim to provide the best possible nursing care available to our residents by the following important objectives:.

1. A thorough knowledge of normal physical and psychological needs of individuals.

2. Producing a 'home-like' environment and atmosphere.

3. Ensuring that competent professional staff are available to administer resident care.

4. Recognising and respecting the rights of residents.

5. Ensuring the psychological needs of the family are met with the admission of the resident.

6. Ensuring the on-going and updating education of the staff.

7. Ensuring a good rapport with the community bodies, e.g. Council, schools, shop keepers, voluntary organisations etc.

Features include:

Direct Dial telephones and both free to air and Cable TV in every room; electrically adjustable beds; secure, landscaped internal courtyard and electronic security on perimeter doors.

Accommodation

We provide a variety of room combinations e.g. 1 single with ensuite, 54 single rooms non ensuite and 4 X 2 bed wards. Rooms are fully furnished, air conditioned and heated. There is cable TV and telephones for every bed. Residents are welcome to bring in their favourite chair, bedspread, doona and photos to individualise their rooms, but, please consult with the Director of Nursing or Deputy Director of Nursing beforehand.

Visiting

We have open-house policy with visiting allowed around the clock. For the consideration of our other residents, we request visiting hours between 10:00am - 8:30pm, daily.

Diversional Therapy

We have Diversional Therapists attending Monday to Sunday. We have our own bus that takes residents on outings twice a week. All activities are geared to the resident's capabilities.

Outings

Situated in Mosman, we are surrounded by one of Sydney's premier shopping and cafe strips and the Northern Beaches from Manly to Palm Beach offer relaxing day trips.
Relatives are encouraged to take their Mother/Father/Aunt/Uncle etc. out for lunch or dinner.
The Registered Nurse on duty will organise the residents' medication for that day or night.

Staffing

There is at least one Registered Nurse on duty 24 hours a day. The DON and DDON work Monday through Friday but are available outside of these hours by appointment.

Doctors

Each resident is attended to by the Doctor of his/her choice.

Hairdresser

A Hairdresser attends one day each week.

Smoking

Residents may smoke in the Home in designated areas and only under supervision. Smoking is not permitted in bedrooms.
